1. Information we use

Lightbulb English may process account details such as name, email address, phone number where supplied, date of birth where required for registration, account type, institutional membership details, device/session information, learning progress, exercise scores and payment-status information needed to provide the service.

2. Why we use it

• to create and protect learner and customer accounts;
• to deliver lessons, progress, results and account recovery;
• to manage school and learning-centre access;
• to provide linked parent/educator views where authorised;
• to process and verify purchases through the configured payment provider;
• to maintain security, audit and service reliability.

3. Learner records

The server-side account record is intended to remain the primary copy of learning progress. Results may also be delivered by email or made available for PDF download as part of the reporting experience.

4. Payments

Card-payment processing is handled by the configured payment provider. Lightbulb English does not need to store a learner's full card details in order to verify a successful transaction.

5. Children and parent involvement

Lightbulb English is designed for secondary-school learners. Parent or guardian participation is used where the product flow requires an adult decision, payment or linked monitoring access.

6. Data security and retention

We use account authentication, access controls and service logs to protect records. Information is kept for as long as reasonably necessary to provide the service, preserve legitimate academic/payment history and meet applicable legal or operational obligations.
